A really snooty Doublemint commercial.

In S1E3, Lorelai and Michel are preparing the inn for a double wedding with identical twin brides when they witness the grooms arriving, and they turn out to be identical twins as well. The identical couples are seen brushing noses, the women wearing matching tennis outfits. Lorelai comments, “It’s like a really snooty Doublemint commercial.”

Doublemint is a flavor of Wrigley gum that uses twins in its advertising campaign. The first twins to be featured in the ads were Joan and Jayne Boyd; that campaign began in 1956. Since then, at least 9 different sets of twins have appeared in twin-themed Doublemint ad campaigns.
